2017 EAA Founder’s Innovation Prize Winners!
At this month’s meeting we are going to hear from two members of the three-person team that took first place (out of more than 140 entries) and $25,000 in EAA’s 2017 Founder’s Innovation Prize, sponsored by Airbus. Thomas Baron, Maxwell Lord, and Justin Zhou won this year’s prize with their “Remora System” concept, which delivers critical flight information to the pilot through a head-mounted display.
On Monday, October 23, 2017, this same pair presented their winning solution to the General Aviation Joint Steering Committee (GAJSC) in Washington, D.C., and wowed the group of senior FAA officials and representatives of GA organizations who meet regularly to discuss GA safety metrics and accident prevention strategies. Oh, and did I mention, this team of Thomas, Maxwell, and Justin are high school seniors! I know you will be impressed too.
